A roof, site or carport may provide space for a solar power installation.
Possible solution
Local solar power creates value when generation, on-site use, feed-in and the other parts of the energy system are assessed together.
When is this relevant?
A roof, site or carport may provide space for a solar power installation.
Part of the energy demand coincides with periods of local generation.
Generation can be aligned with charging, storage or other controllable processes.
Financial driver
For Dutch businesses with a small-consumer connection using net metering, the scheme ends on 1 January 2027. Net metering does not apply to large-consumer connections; on-site use and exports must be assessed against the energy contract. Read more about on-site use and net metering at RVO (Dutch).
Solar electricity used by the business at the time it is generated does not first have to be exported and purchased again later.
The demand profile and feed-in conditions become more important than simply maximising annual generation.
Control, charging or storage can help align demand and generation when the business case supports it.
Part of QontrolInsight
The number of panels alone says little. How the system fits the location, connection and demand profile determines the technical direction.
In combination with
An integrated design looks not only at production, but also at when and where the electricity can be used.
In depth
A sound solar design connects the generation profile to on-site use, the location and the available room within the connection and feed-in agreement.
Annual consumption alone is insufficient. Quarter-hourly data and an expected generation profile show when solar power can be used directly and when a surplus occurs.
Structure, roof condition, shade, fire safety and cable routes must be assessed before a final system choice is made.
Orientation, panel fields and inverter capacity affect the timing and level of production. This can matter more than the highest possible annual yield.
Monitoring helps identify deviations in time. Maintenance and future connections to charging or storage should remain manageable from the design stage onward.
From analysis to management
We first assess consumption, feed-in room, location and future plans. The installation, protection, metering plan and any control are then designed and implemented together, followed by monitoring after completion.
Your next step
We assess generation, on-site use and constraints and determine which route suits your location.
